Donutle uses no cookies, doesn’t ask who you are, and doesn’t sell or share anything about you.
What stays on your device
The game saves a few things in your browser’s local storage so it can pick up where you left off. None of it is sent to us.
- Your progress on each daily donut: the letters you’ve placed, your moves and your time.
- Your results from past days, for your stats and streaks.
- Which donuts you’ve already rated.
- Whether you chose light or dark mode.
To remove it, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings. That also resets your stats.
What our server counts
When you start a donut, finish one or rate one, the game tells our server so we can see how each day’s puzzle went. It sends only:
- the puzzle number;
- when you finish, your stars and your time in seconds;
- when you rate, thumbs up or down and too easy, just right or too hard.
The server adds these to running totals for that puzzle, such as how many people finished it and the average number of stars. It doesn’t store your IP address, a device or user ID, or any cookie with them, so the totals can’t be traced back to you.
Cloudflare
Donutle runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse. Our server, for example, limits how many updates one connection can send per minute, and Cloudflare keeps that count only briefly, in memory. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t fingerprint your device and doesn’t follow you to other sites. It shows us totals, such as page views per day.
Apart from that analytics script, everything on the page, fonts included, comes from donutle.com itself, so loading the game doesn’t contact any other company.

Two links take you to other services, and only if you choose to follow them:
- Buy me a coffee goes to Ko-fi. If you support Donutle there, Ko-fi handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and we see what Ko-fi shows creators about supporters.
- Send feedback opens a Google Form. What you type is sent to Google, under Google’s privacy policy, and to us. The form doesn’t collect your email address, and you don’t need to give your name or email unless you’d like a reply. After you finish a daily donut, the link fills in its puzzle number for you.
Mail to hello@donutle.com is forwarded through Cloudflare to our inbox, and we use your address only to reply.
